Do you wish you could be a peaceful mother instead of a drama queen?
What do you think? You can calm your racing thoughts, stop feeling stressed every day, and have a lot more FUN in your busy mother days (even if you don’t believe you’ll EVER have time to relax and close your eyes like this lady).
Let’s start talking about parenting straight immediately. I know we only recently met, but if I had to assume…
:: You adore your children, but they can drive you insane at times.
:: You have the sensation of being tugged in 87 different directions at the same time.
You’re exhausted from the fighting and moaning. THE DRAMA
:: You’re sorry for not spending enough quality time with your children.
:: You want your life could be PEACEFUL and EASY… just for a freakin’ second.
Now consider what it would be like to…
Let me make another guess now that we’ve known each other a bit longer…
Are you considering, “So you’re telling me that all I need is some self-care, yoga, and mindfulness? I KNOW EVERYTHING. I’ve been there and done that.”
I understand.
I’m curious whether, like me, you’ve tried yoga classes, meditation apps, and #allthebooks yet still feel stuck, discouraged, and tired, because…
You didn’t have time to go to yoga class.
You tried meditating and are very certain you did it incorrectly.
The self-care book advised you to “Go get a massage!” (#impossible, right?)
When you tried to relax in a bubble bath, all you ended up doing was scrubbing the bathtub:(
Part of the reason why typical self-care advice for parents doesn’t work is because even if you could find a way to get to yoga or get a relaxing massage, YOU’RE STILL GOING TO COME HOME TO ALL THE STUFF THAT STRESSES YOU OUT.
You still only have 24 hours in a day, you still have schoolwork to do, and you still have to respond to tantrums without losing your *stuff*.
You require something that will assist you in being peaceful, nurtured, and nourished on a daily basis.
Let me make another guess:
You’ve come because you want to be a patient, present, and caring mother.
You see photographs of tranquil, meditating moms (like, ahem, the one at the top of this page), and holy sugar, you wish your own motherhood experience had been like that.
You’ve come because you want to be the parent you want to be… You just require direction, encouragement, and practical tools to get there.
You’re ready to locate your supporting community of mothers to whom you may seek help.
You’re ready to learn that you’re not alone in your struggles.
You’re tired of feeling disappointed, resentful, and stuck.
And how did I find out all of this? Well, …
I was precisely where you are many years ago.
Exhausted. Overwhelmed. And the sense that I was losing out on my own existence!
That’s when I learned about MINDFULNESS.
Mindfulness is a simple technique that can help you quiet down your crying toddler in the cereal aisle, stay cool when your five-year-old unexpectedly redecorates his bedroom with Sharpies, and be delightfully present for all the tiny lovely moments in between.
It can assist you in being the mom – and YOU – that you desire.
(Here’s how the experts define it:)
“Mindfulness is just being aware of what is occurring right now without wishing it were otherwise; enjoying the pleasant without clinging to it when it changes (which it will); and being with the unpleasant without thinking it will always be this way (which it will not).”
– Mr. James Baraz
“We make smarter decisions and take things less personally when we stay in the present.”

Let me tell you more about how mindfulness changed my maternity experience!
As I suffered with postpartum depression and anxiety some years ago, I began reading about mindfulness.
Without a doubt! I reasoned that I just needed to be more aware! I’m glad I read this book!
Then I attempted to be aware.
Without any pondering….
I didn’t want to squander my valuable time sitting on a cushion and doing nothing! I mean, I had so much parenting to do!
But I discovered that merely reading about mindfulness and liking the notion of it wasn’t enough.
When I first started meditating…
