Description:
This two-hour class will concentrate on the topic of betrayal as it is presented in couple therapy. A betrayal can take various forms, including sexual, financial, third-party mismanagement, concealing information, lying, and gas lighting. Attendees will learn how to frame their approach according on the type of betrayal given in session via video and live example. The path requires special attention because it incorporates not only the emotion of betrayal but also the application of an architecture used by the therapist to guide the couple toward recovery.
Objectives of Education:
To be able to name at least three different forms of betrayal.
Ability to use at least one therapeutic architecture to deal with betrayal.
Ability to use at least three interventions to cope with betrayal.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*

He and his wife, Tracey Boldemann-Tatkin, founded the PACT Institute to train other psychotherapists in the application of this approach in clinical practice.
