Do you wish to reduce your anxiety-related thoughts and feelings? Do you want to learn more about how yoga may help you manage your anxiety?
This Spring, I will be offering a 6-week yoga course geared exclusively for folks who suffer from anxiety, panic, or excessive levels of stress. Yoga provides several strategies for harnessing and reducing anxiety, learning greater acceptance, and strengthening the link between the body, mind, and spirit. This group series can help you whether you are new to yoga or wish to enhance your practice. Participants will benefit from:
Weekly asana practices for dealing with heightened and nervous energy.
Anxiety can be reduced by using certain breathing methods.
Mantra and meditation techniques that they can combine with asana practice or employ on their own.
Greater understanding and practice with acceptance, observing, mindfulness, and other yogic philosophy ideas.
A welcoming setting in which to practice.
Jamie Justus, a yoga teacher and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, will facilitate the session.
