DescriptionEmotionally Focused Therapy is a well-known method of treating couples. But how does it apply to working with individuals? This session introduces EFIT (Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy), which focuses on assisting individual clients in developing a strong and resilient sense of self in preparation for what Carl Rogers referred to as “existential life.” In each session, EFIT prioritizes emotion and develops corrective emotional experiences to reorganize harmful patterns of identifying oneself, organizing inner experience, and relating with others. Attachment science, like EFT for couples, provides a road map for how we interpret clients’ challenges and influence their journey toward wholeness. You will learn:
The attachment view on personality and its implications for clinical intervention
The EFT Tango Micro-interventions and the transformation process to progressively take clients into transformative moments where vulnerabilities are faced with balance and competence.
EFIT’s applicability with individuals suffering from a variety of symptoms and difficulties
