Extrapolations Demonstrations Of Ericksonian Therapy by Stephen R. Lankton and Jeffrey Zeig
The Erickson Foundation’s objective during the last decade has been to promote and develop the work of Milton H. Erickson, M.D. (1901–1980). This has been accomplished through a variety of venues, including international congresses, conferences, seminars, regional workshops, the Milton H. Erickson Center for Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, the Evolution of Psychotherapy conferences, and publications, such as congress proceedings, newsletters, and the Ericksonian Monographs. Since 1981, the foundation has requested invited faculty members to show their clinical work at each of the annual congresses, symposia, and seminars. The protests are among the most popular activities of the conference, and they are documented for future reference.
The Milton H. Erickson Foundation, Inc. celebrated its tenth anniversary on October 29, 1989. This edition of the Ericksonian Monographs is an excellent addition to this milestone. We asked the six invited faculty members of the tenth anniversary conference to choose and remark on their favorite recorded demonstration for this volume. Joseph Barber, Ph.D., Stephen G. Gilligan, Ph.D., Stephen R. Lankton, M.S.W., William Hudson O’Hanlon, M.S., Ernest L. Rossi, Ph.D., and Jeffrey K. Zeig, Ph.D. are the six faculty members. We also invited each faculty member to remark on another faculty member’s demonstration for further insight.
The chapters in this edition were not subjected to the usual editorial board review procedure, but instead comprise entire and unabridged transcriptions of those demonstrations and the 12 remarks.
