What is Organic Traffic Formula
I’ve reviewed similar courses to this, but some are more in depth. That’s not to say they are any better, they are just more suited to advanced users. Ahrefs Blogging for Business and Human Proof Designs are two of these.
This course however is very good at explaining SEO and keyword research to newbies of the blogging landscape. Spencer Haws does a good job of teaching the correct topics that will have you ranking in Google. Is it my favourite program? Not by a long shot, but it is a great course. You can read about my No.1 recommended program here.
Here’s a taste of what you’ll find in Spencer Haws Organic Traffic Formula course.
Organic Traffic Formula From The Inside
Taking a peek inside this course will give you an idea of what modules you will learn. The sales page also tells you what videos are in each module, I’ll explain a little more about what each module covers.
#1 Education Review
Module 1 Organic Traffic Strategy – Spencer will give you examples and explain the differences of direct traffic, social traffic, referral traffic and of course, organic traffic. To come up with a website strategy, he’ll run you through the process and steps required to meet the end goal.
The idea of all this is obviously to make money with your website, so here you’ll also learn the different monetization methods. What I really like about this course though, especially the first module, is the 6 month growth plan that gives you a bit of a blueprint of what to do in these first 6 months.
Module 2 Niche Selection – Module 2 only comprises 3 videos, but there’s no need for any more than this. Keywords can play a part in your niche if your narrowing down a niche topic. You’ll learn how, and what to look for in your domain keyword research. You will also learn some great external tools that will help with this keyword research.
Module 3 Branding Hosting and WordPress Basics -So this module will teach you about branding, including logo design, slogans, exposure, trust and credibility. This is all about how memorable you can make your brand. Domain selection and hosting is the next thing in this module, including how to find a fast hosting provider which is a metric you definitely require.
You’ll get a handle on what you need to do to get a WordPress website up and running. You won’t learn how use WordPress in this course, just the steps required to build a website. This module runs through various slides which explain what should be done, including affiliate income plugins for your website. I don’t necessarily agree with all these plugins, it’s just what Spencer uses.
Module 4 Keyword Research – This is such an important component of any blogging website, as it will guide you to the top ranking positions in the search engines. The keyword research component of this course covers areas such as search volume, website authority, keyword length, first page competition and how you can improve your content to make it better.
You will come to understand how targeting one keyword, can rank you for different variations of this keyword. I do like that Spencer uses some different programs than the more common and expensive programs to calculate his keyword research. He shows you a few free resources that can be used for keyword research also.
Module 5 On Page SEO & Monetization – It’s easier to do your own on-page SEO than off page, because off page SEO involves getting external backlinks. This can be done via social media, but it’s a more difficult strategy in my opinion, although does have a huge SEO impact.
This module focuses on On-page SEO. You’ll learn about long-form content and how it gives you more chance of a higher ranking. I also like the ‘Perfect Title’ video, which shows you how to create an attention grabbing headline. There are examples shown, and Spencer also dictates why visitors will click on a more emotional title.
The 11 videos in this module represent a different aspect of your on-page SEO, and like the keyword module, it offers great value. While I use a different SEO plugin than what is recommended here, Yoast is a good plugin to get started.
I also got a lot out of the ‘content refresh’ video, which gives you some great ideas on how to go over old posts, and analyse how to best restructure or modify it to give it a Google boost. This module is top notch.
Module 6 Link Building – The videos in this module also relate to off page SEO strategies, such as guest blogging or other backlink methods. It doesn’t cover internal and external links, this is part of your On-page SEO. Instead you’ll discover link building basics, various types of backlinks, difficulty ratings for backlinks, prospecting and email etiquette when reaching out to others.
This may be required when you have broken links from other websites, that were previously back-linked to yours. Spencer will also show you some tools that can help with obtaining the same backlinks that your competitors are using.
Module 7 Other Traffic Strategies – Concluding this course, are a couple of videos that explain some other traffic strategies, basically referring to Pinterest. You’ll learn why Pinterest is one of the best social platforms, how to get started, and how to use Tailwind as your automating strategy. The videos also explain how to expand your reach within group boards, and worthy pin-able content…
