DescriptionIndividuals with dementia engage with a wide range of experts, including nursing staff, psychologists, counselors, social workers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, home health aides, adult day center employees, and first responders.
However, regardless of your career, sufficient skills and knowledge of the condition are required to work with this demographic. Without proper training, safety hazards increase, and chances to improve care and quality of life are lost.
This vital training program will provide you with the resources, methods, and practices you’ll need to better treat people suffering with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
In just one day, you’ll learn how to better assess for and differentiate between different types of dementia, overcome communication issues that can impede quality care, work more collaboratively with family and caregivers, maximize daily functioning, and intervene safely and effectively when difficult behaviors arise.
Best of all, after completing this training, you’ll be eligible to become a Certified Dementia Care Specialist (CDCS) through Evergreen Certifications, demonstrating to colleagues, employers, and caregivers that you’ve invested the extra time and effort required to understand the complexities of the disease, build essential skills, and employ safe and effective best practices to provide quality care (for more information, visit www.evergreencertifications.com/cdcs).
