Participants will be able to: 1. better recognize and discuss prenatal mood problems after this presentation. 2. Determine suitable first-line treatment for individuals in their practice who may have bipolar illness. 3. Gain a better understanding of perimenopausal mood problems. The American Osteopathic Association has approved the Maine Osteopathic Association to offer doctors with osteopathic continuing medical education. The Maine Osteopathic Association has designated this program for a maximum of 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credit and will submit CME and specialty credits based on the level of the physician’s involvement in this activity.
Dr. Katherine Kessler is a board-certified psychiatrist who has completed a fellowship in women’s mental health. She sees adult patients and employs medication, counseling, and integrative medicine strategies to help them discover wellness and enhance their quality of life. She is presently a private practitioner in Portland, Maine.
