Hello, my name is Matt Arroyo. I’m a TUF 6 and an ADCC 2015 veteran. I started studying in 2003 and received my black belt from Rob Kahn (Royce Gracie’s first black belt) in 2009. I’ve trained with practically every grappling champion imaginable, including Marcelo Garcia, Andre Galvao, Robert Drysdale, Matt Serra, Cyborg, Rodolfo Vieira, Keenan Cornelius, Royce Gracie, and many more! 90% of all of these creatures have one trait in common. From white to black belt, they all began and trained in the gi!

I Knew I Had To Create A Blueprint For Anyone Who Wants To Go From No Gi To The GI! In 2003, I began working in the gi…. I trained for a year before meeting Rob Kahn! Rob concentrated mostly on no gi… So from 2004 to 2009, I only trained without a gi!! Everything I had learnt in my first year was gone! I was a brown belt who knew she didn’t want to obtain her black belt until she felt the same in gi as she did without! So I started on a learning binge to study the principles of the gi as well as the techniques! From 2008 to 2012, I concentrated primarily on the gi!! My technique began to improve, and as a result, my no gi game increased tenfold! Surprisingly, by practicing in the gi and absorbing everything I could, my no gi game improved enough to win ADCC trials and make it to the world’s largest no gi stage! From 2008 until 2018, I trained in the gi every week and devised a technique for transitioning from no gi to the gi! I am delighted to provide to you my “Gi Hacks Blueprint.”
