SQL is a specialized computer language used to handle data in relational database management systems (RDBMS). The word relational is important here because it indicates that the database management system is organized in such a manner that unambiguous relationships between distinct groups of data are formed. Join connects relational database systems.
Joins enable you to combine data from two or more tables into a single query result—all from a single SELECT expression.
.
When integrating rows from various tables in a single query, the JOIN statement is required. There are several sorts of joins, and the differences between them should be explained here.
Depending on the database type, the syntax will differ. I utilized the Oracle database in this training.
The JOIN procedures, which are among the Table Expressions that may be used in a FROM clause, conduct joins between two tables.
The various forms of joins used in Oracle are described briefly here.
INNER JOIN specifies a join between two tables using an explicit join clause.
Specifies a join between two tables using an explicit join clause, retaining unmatched rows from the first table.
RIGHT OUTER JOIN specifies a join between two tables with an explicit join clause, retaining unmatched rows from the second table.
CROSS JOIN specifies a join that returns the Cartesian product of two tables. There is no explicit join clause.
The NATURAL JOIN procedure specifies whether two tables should be joined on the inside or outside. There is no explicit join clause. Instead, one is produced implicitly by combining the two tables’ common columns.
In all circumstances, additional limitations on one or both of the tables being linked can be specified in outer join clauses or the WHERE clause.
There will be many hands-on real-world examples of SQL table joins in this course.
