The program Individual and Family ChoicesLois Ehrmann, Ph.D., LPC, NCC, CTTS, is a trauma-informed and sensitive clinician who deals with trauma, abuse, and attachment disorders in people and families. She is the creator of The Individual and Family CHOICES Program in State College, PA, a holistic trauma-informed counseling clinic that has been offering cutting-edge trauma-informed treatment for over ten years. For almost 18 years, she co-owned Therapy Alternatives Group, a dual diagnosis outpatient counseling program. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and she has been in therapeutic practice for over 30 years, with a focus on trauma and attachment for the past 22 years.
Lois is a CTTS who is also an Approved Consultant and Certified Clinician in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDRIA) and a Certified Internal Family Systems Clinician. She has been trained in IFS Levels 1, 2, and 3 as well as Somatic IFS, and she has brought the IFS model to the children and families she works with, as well as groups of traumatized parents and professional healers who work with traumatized families. Lois is an Approved Clinical Supervisor, Registered ATTACh Clinician, and Certified Attachment Focused Family Therapist/Consultant (NCE). She is also a clinical hypnotist and a qualified neurofeedback clinician.
Lois is a well-known trainer both locally and nationally, and she also works as an adjunct assistant professor of counselor education and supervision at PSU. She has lectured at the National ATTACh Conference for many years and has recently served on the board of directors of that organization. Lois has also spoken at the Internal Family Systems Conference on the use of IFS with children and families coping with attachment disorders on a yearly basis.
Lois is the co-author of a book on best practices in attachment therapy and has self-published books on attachment and Internal Family Systems principles for children and their parents. She was the principal researcher in the Internal Family System Foundation’s development of the Internal Family Systems Adherence Scale.
