DescriptionSpecific training on how to effectively implement exposure and response prevention for obsessive compulsive disorder and related anxiety disorders and disorders is uncommon, and data suggest that even when individuals are trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, they frequently do not use exposure, or use it incorrectly. Furthermore, the scarcity of well-trained ERP practitioners makes it exceedingly difficult for OCD sufferers to receive adequate care, with many having to wait years. Finally, current research on inhibitory learning, or the mechanism by which exposure works, proposes particular instructions for increasing treatment success. As a result, this training meets a specific requirement in the area.
