James T. Lindell is the President of a Wisconsin-based firm that provides strategic and financial consulting, professional speaking, training, and executive coaching. Jim has substantial senior management experience, having served as Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Controller, and Corporate Assistant Controller. Jim has experience in a wide range of businesses, including manufacturing, health care, non-profit, distribution, and food processing. He has been involved in over 50 mergers and acquisitions.
Jim is a CPA with public accounting expertise at a number of local and regional companies. He holds the Certified Speaking Professional credential, the highest honor bestowed upon a member of the National Speakers Association. He is the Chairman of TEC/Vistage (The Executive Committee). He is a member (and former teacher) of the American Institute of CPAs, the Wisconsin Institute of CPAs, and the National Speakers Association.
Jim is the author of the AICPA book Controller as Business Manager, as well as AICPA courses such as AICPA’s Annual Update for Controllers, Analytics and Big Data for Accountants, Strategic Planning: A Simplified and Workable Approach for Private Companies, and AICPA’s Controllership: 25 Critical Lessons from the Trenches. Jim also wrote the AICPA video and course, Minimizing the Effects of a Recession on Your Business, and was a participant in it. He helped write the AICPA course The Fast Close, Soft Close, or Virtual Close? Days have replaced weeks.
Jim has received the AICPA’s Outstanding Discussion Leader Award seven times.
Jim is a Deep Pool member, a retired coach of a boys’ high school rugby club, and he still plays “old boys” rugby.
