Music Production for Non-Geeks
Your Professor
Findeisen, Friedemann
Friedemann Findeisen is a musician, songwriter/producer, and educator.
Friedemann discovered after some time at International Music College Freiburg that he had made a mistake by learning jazz guitar. He’d been practicing his playing technique every day for two years with little success. Scale practice was not his forte. Friedemann instead penned songs under the radar of his professors.
When Friedemann narrowly passed his final guitar test and his composition instructor (and artistic director of the school) Bernhard G. Hoffmann heard his songs and informed him, “There is nothing more I can teach you,” he dropped out of the program and moved to the Netherlands. He studied MediaMusic here, and his songwriting flourished.
Friedemann performed in front of over 100,000 people with his band over the next four years, conducted his music in front of a live orchestra, was featured on prime time television, won two composition awards, had his music selected for the Cannes Film Festival, and worked for some of the industry’s biggest names. Erwin Steijlen (Pink, Shakira) and René Merkelbach (-in Temptation) have recommended him, as has orchestrator Conrad Pope (The Hobbit, Harry Potter), and composer Jeff Rona (Traffic, God Of War III).
At the age of 28, he has published a best-selling book, has over 100,000 YouTube followers, and performs music profiling for some of the country’s greatest producers.
