A comprehensive step-by-step, follow-along training course that explains how to install and create your own WordPress website!
This course is a simplified version of how to install and manage a WordPress website. I avoid formality and teach the only way I know how – as myself. It’s how I would have like to be taught if I hadn’t had to teach myself everything and waste countless hours trial-and-error’ing my way through this digital world we’ve all come to know and love in the first place.
The course begins with the fundamentals: how to select a web host (GoDaddy is used in this series), how to download a few required programs such as Atom (code editor) and FileZilla, and how to download the free WordPress core files and upload those bad boys using FTP to your own web server (you know, that thing you purchased from GoDaddy / Bluehost / Hostgator / etc…).
You will learn how to install WordPress as the course develops (the hard way – self-hosted). This will be the most difficult section of the course, but don’t worry, you can do it, and I will assist you!
Once WordPress is installed, I will guide you through every aspect of the WordPress backend, explaining (to the best of’my’ abilities) what each component does and how it is utilized. You will learn how to make posts, pages, manage users, categories, tags, upload photographs, use menus, plugins, and themes, and much more.
Those who want to learn how to install WordPress on their own and have a better grasp of how everything works behind there should take this course. Once you’ve mastered the fundamentals, it’s a lot of fun to use. I look forward to seeing you inside!
– David.
