Darren McStay, the founder of Vocabilities, began his career as an actor and singer. He has over 28 years of experience recording in studios and playing on stage, giving him a plethora of knowledge in his area.
He started voice coaching in 2008 and has since helped thousands of people gain confidence and realize their full potential as voice-over artists and public speakers.
Darren first received a certificate of distinction in Speech and Articulation from LAMDA before enrolling at East 15 Acting School for an MA in Acting. He also holds an equivalent MA in Radio from the same institution and is presently enrolled in the London Teachers Training College to complete his Grade 6 TEFL course.
Darren went on to obtain two further diplomas, one in Life Coaching and the other in Hypnotherapy, to expand his resources.
As a performer, Darren has performed in front of crowds of up to three thousand people and shared the stage with Scissor Sisters, The Cuban Brothers, and The Blockheads.
He has also performed at some of the most exciting festivals in the UK, including Glastonbury, Bestival, and Boomtown, to mention a few.
Darren has worked as a stage performer at The National Theatre, The Royal Opera House, ENO (English National Opera), and Warhorse in London’s West End. He has performed in over twenty-five films as a film actor and continues to work in both disciplines.
“Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to perform in front of about three and a half million people live throughout the world. This has effectively led me to become an expert voice and performance coach, having helped over 500,000 individuals improve not just their voice and communicating ability, but also make good changes to their lifestyle, attitudes, and habits.”
All of this expertise provides Darren with a diversified and one-of-a-kind set of skills to use when working with his clients.
