Explore evaluation techniques, as well as clinical applications of habituation, gaze stabilization, gait, balance, and endurance training, as well as the four main components of successful vestibular rehabilitation programs.
Throughout the program, we will look at case studies that show typical findings as well as problem-solving options for the difficult patient. In lab, we will focus on the demonstration and evolution of gaze stability exercises.

Colleen Sleik, PT, DPT, OCS, NCS, is a registered physical therapist who specializes in the treatment of individuals with vestibular problems who have failed to respond to various kinds of medical care. Dr. Sleik established a private clinic in 2010 with the sole goal of treating individuals suffering from vestibular disorders. She is still employed as a specialist at Dickenson Rehab Services, where she sees patients with vestibular and balance issues on a daily basis.
Dr. Sleik earned a Master’s degree in physical therapy from The College of St. Catherine. She got a transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from The University of St. Augustine in Florida and finished Emory University’s Competency-Based Vestibular Rehabilitation course in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Sleik is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, including the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapists and the Vestibular Special Interest Group, in addition to being board-certified as an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and Neurologic Clinical Specialist.
She began teaching vestibular rehabilitation continuing education classes with the goal of boosting doctors’ knowledge of the speciality and, eventually, the quality of patient treatment. Dr. Sleik’s objective as a physician is to give the best treatment possible for her patients’ return to everyday function with minimum limits, while also equipping them with the tools for long-term self-management of symptoms.
