DescriptionThis intensive full-day seminar recording includes tried-and-true intervention strategies, critical treatment tools, and behavioral techniques to help you analyze behaviors and actions, identify consequences for behaviors, and teach new skills to children, adolescents, and young adults with high-functioning autism (HFA). Take away practical intervention skills for social success, behavior modification, and fighting harmful co-occurring behaviors, all of which lead to adult success. The following challenging co-occurring issues must be addressed:
Social skills
Communication
Sensory\sAnxiety/Rigidity
Depression
Meltdowns
ADHD
OCD
Antipsychotic drugs
Non-complianceLearn about common psychotropic medicines, including both the positive and potentially harmful side effects that these patients are given. We’ll look at HFA as well as the new Social-Pragmatic Communication Disorder DSM-5® diagnosis. You will learn how to create successful collaboration among physicians, educators, and parents. After using case studies, video clips, and class participation to identify actions that create obstacles to change, utilize more successful consequences for behaviors, and teach new skills to children, adolescents, and young adults with HFA, you will conclude the recording with confidence. Don’t only manage these folks; provide interventions that will lead to adult independence!
