The workshop is intended for participants who have had little or no prior exposure to Ericksonian hypnosis and psychotherapy. It will educate attendees with the approach’s key beliefs, vocabulary, and principles. A historical context on Erickson’s work, crucial pre-hypnotic therapy concerns, and a review of the normal course of a hypnotic session are all discussed.
Objectives of Education:
Discuss the significance of expectation in hypnosis.
Give four examples of how attention may be directed in induction.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*

Brent B. Geary, Ph.D. is a private practice psychologist in Phoenix, Arizona. He has also served as the Milton H. Erickson Foundation’s Director of Training since 1988. Dr. Geary has been presenting on Ericksonian issues abroad and in the United States since 1991. He coedited two publications, The Handbook of Ericksonian Psychotherapy and The Letters of Milton H. Erickson, with Jeffrey K. Zeig, Ph.D.
