DescriptionDescription:
This program will go through a philosophy and strategies for working quickly and effectively with traumatized persons. Previous notions and ways of treating with trauma have been proved to be excessively long-term and re-traumatizing by a variety of new methods. Rather than being based on the past and deterministic models, these new methods are focused on the present and future, as well as a feeling of possibilities. You will leave with a new perspective on how to address trauma and four practical approaches you can put to use right now in your job. Participants will be given new skills and ideas for dealing with even the most severe and long-standing traumas in a quick, effective, and courteous manner. Learn how some people convert post-traumatic stress into post-traumatic stress and the evidence that supports this. Come prepared to be amused in addition to learning new models and methodologies. Bill is a vibrant speaker whose sense of humour and interaction with the audience make his talks enjoyable and enlivening.
