DescriptionDescription:
Cognitive psychology has provided fresh insights into how humans receive and use information. This encompasses how humans pick what to pay attention to in a particular situation and, conversely, what might be judged unimportant, generally at a level outside of consciousness. One effective “how” inquiry can bring to light what the client doesn’t know—or knows isn’t true—that is working against him or her in some manner. This very practical training will focus on the “how” question as a vehicle for uncovering the particular discriminations—key characteristics that differentiate excellent alternatives from poor options—that a client may learn to make, leading to better decisions and a higher quality of life.
Objectives of Education:
Examine the impact of cognitive style on decision-making.
Explain how global cognitions have a role in client difficulties.
Determine the essential distinctions that underpin unique clinical presentations.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
