DescriptionDescription:
Research and theory, as well as skills and experience, all play important roles in the development of effective therapeutic practice. There’s also something else. When we consider the work of Milton Erickson, Virginia Satir, Carl Rogers, and Carl Whitaker, we notice another layer: artistry. Surprisingly, artistry may be taught, or more precisely, broadened or improved. Everyone have the ability. And it is artistry that effectively and generatively combines all of that talent, experience, research, and theory. Dr. Jeffrey Zeig will identify Erickson’s creative tendencies in this talk (and others). He will describe his “psychoaerobics” experiential approach to therapist development—how the therapist’s “state” may be the starting point for effective clinical interventions.
Objectives of Education:
Explain the “states” model.
Explain how the therapist’s state is the parent of the approach.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
