Michael F. Hoyt, PhD, is a Mill Valley, California-based independent psychologist. He is the author and editor of many publications, most notably Brief Psychotherapies: Principles and Practices, Therapist Stories of Inspiration, Passion, and Renewal: What Does Love Have to Do With It?, and Capturing the Moment: Single Session Therapy and Walk-In Services (with M. Talmon). He is a Woodrow Wilson Fellow and has been named a Continuing Education Distinguished Speaker by the American Psychological Association and the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors, a Contributor of Note by the Milton H.
