DescriptionThis full-color, 60-minute documentary, narrated by Jay Haley and now available on demand and on DVD, depicts this unique individual’s life and work in an intimate and far-reaching manner. You’ll learn how Milton Erickson overcame obstacles in his early life, such as dyslexia, complete paralysis from polio at the age of 17, and chronic pain, and how these events affected his development as a pioneer in hypnosis and therapy. With previously unreleased footage of Erickson during interviews and therapy sessions, you will learn more about the man and his work via fascinating exchanges with his colleagues, students, patients, and family members. This inspiring portrayal of one of our generation’s most important therapists will enrich the lives of anybody interested in the incredible potential of the human spirit.
“Because he’d walked that journey himself, Erickson understood suffering better than any other therapist in the process of grasping and coping with his own misery.”
– from the narrative of Jay Haley
“Without a question, he was a genius. He was a troublemaker…” Robert E. Pearson, Jr.
