DescriptionDescription:
Magick’s function in physical and psychological healing is making a resurgence. Recently, the world’s two most populous countries have called on folk healers, herbalists, and spiritual guides to meet their citizens’ urgent mental health needs. Regardless of how the methods are thought to work—whether by the operation of spirits, the rebalancing of discordant energies, or other unknown powers—each approach has one thing in common: the belief that forces outside of awareness, inaccessible to reason or direct observation, influence or even control life. Importantly, people perceived by the public as having the ability to connect with such energies are recognized as healers. Western therapists must rediscover their magical roots. This presentation will discover and demonstrate healing possibilities that go much beyond what the current and popular schools of thinking defining psychotherapy allow.
Objectives of Education:
Six magical structural components will be recognized, described, and shown.
Participants will learn how to improve drama and therapeutic impact by careful observation of ideomotor reaction, the use of symbols to stimulate transderivational search, and the capitalization on chance, change-producing events.*Content and confidentiality may be modified during sessions*
