Dr. Alex Korb is a neuroscientist, author, and coach. He has spent over 15 years studying the brain and is the author of The Upward Spiral: Using Neuroscience to Reverse the Course of Depression, One Small Change at a Time. He earned a BS in Neuroscience from Brown University before going on to acquire a PhD in Neuroscience from UCLA. His dissertation was concerned with detecting electrical activity in the brain in order to better understand and treat depression. He works as an adjunct assistant professor at the UCLA Department of Psychiatry, where he conducts research on neuroimaging and the development of a new brain stimulation device. He has over a dozen peer-reviewed published papers on the neurology of mental diseases to his credit.
