The CLE will focus on cultural differences that influence successful representation of a client in a juvenile court case, with presenters from both Kansas City and St. Louis. This includes, but is not limited to, cultural and communal perspectives on mental health, substance addiction, personal cleanliness, and care. The presentation will showcase experiences from people working in the legal community, including GAL, juvenile office, and parent attorneys, to improve client representation in the juvenile court process. We will also give demographic information about the ethnic and racial makeup of Missouri’s juvenile justice system’s children and families.
