Liu Jin Sheng collaborated with Zhao Jiang on the novel “CHIN NA FA.” The first version of the book was published in July 1936 as a textbook for the Zhejiang provincial police academy. The book was printed in Shanghai by the publishing firm Shan Wu. The book includes an author picture, Zhao Jiang’s preface (also known as Long Wen), an introduction and discussion of the CHIN NA procedures with images and thorough explanations, and a bibliography. The strategies discussed may be classified into eight categories. The first section is called head holds2. The second section consists of neck holds. The final section consists of shoulder holds. The fourth section consists of front, side, and rear grips. The fifth side consists of stomach and torso holds. The sixth section consists of hand and wrist grips. The eighth component is finger grips. The eighth section is for genitals and leg holds. Counter-actions are also given special consideration if the opponent attempts to launch an attack.
