AVAZ is a comprehensive online course that will teach you all you need to know about drone videography, including recording, piloting, and editing.
Why Should I Register?
Courses are ever-changing. When new drones, software, techniques, and equipment are released, AVAZ is updated with tried and proven methods to save you time and teach you how to unlock the actual potential of your drone.
There is also a community of like-minded drone pilots waiting for you in our Facebook Group, where you can discuss drones, share your work, ask questions, learn how other people make money and manage job kinds, or simply discuss anything connected to aerial video.
Have you ever wondered how certain drone pilots can work with high-profile customers and brands?
They just seem to be able to generate fantastic aerial footage that is professional, gorgeous, and dramatic (like this…)
You might be tempted to consider…
“I could never build something so beautiful.”
I understand how overwhelming it might appear.
“How do I stand out when everyone and their uncle has a drone?” you may have wondered.”
“I’m not sure where to begin.”
“What are the optimal settings for my drone?”
“Do I have to use filters and other tools?”
“How can I adjust the color and image settings in the editing program to achieve that professional look?”
Continue reading if you’ve ever experienced ideas like this…
Over the previous several years of running Drone Launch Academy, I’ve uncovered the crucial factors that allow certain drone pilots to work exclusively with high-end customers and charge thousands of dollars, while others struggle to make ends meet.
I’ll show you what I mean below…
The two fundamental differences between uber-successful drone pilots and those that just fail,
What you need to do to avoid scrounging for drone jobs that go to the lowest bidder, and how you can equip yourself to break into the commercial drone field even if you’re just a hobbyist right now.
Over the years, I’ve spoken with several drone pilots that are dissatisfied with their current situation.
They entered the drone sector with high aspirations and expectations.
Some had recently retired from years of hard labor and wished to supplement their income by flying drones.
Some were working in jobs that paid the bills (but were not fulfilling) and viewed drones as a possibility to build a new route into an interesting and lucrative sector.
They saved up some money, went out and purchased the most recent DJI drone, put it up, and learned how to fly it about without murdering any innocent bystanders; perhaps they took a great video of their children or grandchildren playing soccer.
Then they went looking for some of this famous and opulent “drone pilot work”!
Maybe you’ve tried some of these methods…
You approach a real estate agent and offer to shoot drone images and video of one of their listings. The real estate agent inquires about your fees. You state your pricing. “Well, my friend’s 14-year-old nephew just acquired a drone and he can do it for half the price,” they respond. Sorry.”
Alternatively, you might go to one of the internet’s most popular drone job sites. Clients just lining up to hire you? That’s fantastic!
But wait till you see the payments… $50 to photograph a property located an hour distant. $100 for a video session that will take you half a day due to travel time.
In that rate, you could be better off working at a fast food restaurant.
(Don’t get me wrong: in the beginning, it may be worthwhile to take some of those low-paying tasks to get flying experience and test the waters.)
But you’re not going to be able to make a livelihood doing it. And did you really enter the drone industry to make pennies on little jobs?
What if there was a way to avoid competing with your 14-year-old nephew with a drone?
Or scour the internet for low-paying drone gigs?
Assume you owned a drone company with a reputation for being the best.
When potential clients watched your drone clip, they exclaimed, “Wow! That is exactly what we require.”
A company where your work was shared with family, friends, and coworkers to exclaim, “Look what so-and-so produced!” Isn’t it amazing? It appears to be a Hollywood advertisement!”
No potential client will tell you, “Well, my friend’s 14-year-old nephew owns a drone…” in that sort of drone business.
Because the consumers you will be able to obtain DO NOT WISH TO HIRE Mr. 14-year-old nephew. They’d want to recruit YOU. And it makes no difference if you are 2x, 3x, or even 5x more costly.
Because the consumers you’ll be able to obtain aren’t just concerned with pricing. They prioritize quality when shopping. They understand that they receive what they pay for, and they are confident in your ability to give what they require.
How does such a drone company become a reality?
I previously indicated that I’ve had the opportunity to speak with hundreds of drone pilots over the years, and I’ve observed TWO crucial components that distinguish the uber-successful from the struggling.
#1 Ingredient
Uber-successful drone pilots understand that simply possessing a drone and being able to operate it does not distinguish them.
They understand that what they can create from what the drone collects is what distinguishes them.
Like cooking… Anyone can buy the raw materials (maybe some beef short ribs and asparagus? ), but not everyone can manage a high-end restaurant that charges $300 per person for that dish.
If you and I tried to sell some beef short ribs and asparagus to a hungry audience, we may receive $20 for it.
What makes us different from the world-class chef who costs $300 for something prepared from the same basic ingredients? That chef has devoted his time and efforts to INTENTIONALLY developing his skill to the point that he can produce something that people enjoy. Something no one else can make.
The same holds true with drones. With the right instruction and dedication, you may learn to make something beautiful, something that impresses others, something that your “14-year-old” nephew cannot, despite the fact that you both have the same “raw materials.”
You purposefully refined your craft. You are an absolute professional.
You’ll be able to do stuff like this…
#2 Ingredient
Drone pilots that are successful on Uber are able to successfully spread the word about their work and earn business. They create gorgeous, eye-catching demo reels that are built precisely for their prospective customer, and they are able to form true, trust-based partnerships.
However, before you can tackle component #2, you must first master ingredient #1.
We know there are a lot of folks out there that WANT to start a successful drone business and are READY to put in the effort. They want to learn the abilities required to run a wildly successful drone business.
They simply want some direction. They only need to know where to begin.
That is why Aerial Video A to Z was created.
Even if you’re a newbie, here is your full guide to filming, editing, and benefiting from incredible aerial footage.
Here are a few examples of course screenshots…
Aerial Video A to Z will teach you…
- What equipment (computers, software, drones) you do and do not require;
How to fine-tune your drone’s settings to capture the best-looking images (we cover all of the most popular DJI models and offer advice that applies even if you have a different drone);
The fundamentals of video: resolution, frame rate, the distinction between.mp4 and.mov file types, and when to utilize each;
Pre-flight preparation and how to prevent rookie blunders;
Flying, filming, and cinematography – learning what to aim for and how to get those incredibly smooth drone photos;
HOW TO FILM SLOW MOTION VIDEO CORRECTLY;
Step-by-step editing software walkthroughs, so you know EXACTLY what to do and where to go (so it’s not overwhelming);
Pro editing strategies and workarounds for working with 4k video (note: 4k film normally takes a LONG time to work with due to its size…but we have a shortcut);
Advanced editing techniques such as…
How to organize your material such that it is aesthetically beautiful and keeps people interested.
How to repair photos when an unsightly object is in the corner of the frame;
How to make shaky film useable again;
The proper technique to include titles, logos, and other visual elements;
How to go from flat, boring footage to video that pops with precise color balance;
rescuing film that is either overly bright (overexposed) or too black (underexposed);
Where to find music, how to align it with your video for optimum effect; and
How to export your work so that it may be shared while still being of high quality.
PLUS… as an extra bonus…We included a COMPLETE job shadow walkthrough in which Alex walks you through a real shoot from start to finish.
(Flying, filming, editing, color correction, effects, exporting…the works).
This way, you may follow along and practice all of the steps you’ve learned throughout the course from beginning to end.
What Others Have to Say…
I learnt more about video editing in one weekend than I thought imaginable…
…and I had NO IDEA what Premiere Pro was, but now I can really work with some incredibly sophisticated software.
I especially liked the walkthrough video at the conclusion, where he demonstrates a film from beginning to end.
This is a great way to recap everything that was taught during the course!
I KNOW I’ll be referring to this course frequently!
